Veteran Home Buyers Get Everything They Want (And More)

September 27, 2006 - John and Cheryl Wood have “been around the block” a few times when it comes to purchasing a newly built home – four times, in fact, with the purchase of their new Barnsdale model at Sherwood Forest Homes’ Sherwood Forest III in Millville.

“We can honestly say this was our best home buying experience from beginning to end,” the couple reports. “Everyone...the whole staff...was friendly, concerned and helpful and went the extra mile to make certain we were comfortable, knowledgeable and happy with the building of our new home.”

Moving to the Millville area from Turnersville, Washington Township, the Woods knew just what they wanted and they found it here. “Very few builders were offering a two-story home with a master suite on the first floor,” they said, noting this requirement was high on their list of desires. “We could tell just from the plans that the home offered the things that were important to us,” Cheryl says. Those “things” included plenty of closet space, a huge kitchen, large laundry room, beautiful master suite and bath and high ceilings.

“Even though skylights were not initially offered, we were assured that if it could be done it would be done, and it was....and at an affordable price,” John reports.

The pair also added skylights in the family room and a bay window in the living room, to add depth and light. Upgraded tile work and a Jacuzzi tub enhanced the already beautiful master bath.

Sherwood Forest III’s downpayment requirement, which is lower than at many competing new home communities, made it easy for the Woods to get a quick mortgage commitment. “We also had plenty of time to sell our current home...we were never pressured,” they say.

They love the fact that their home is located in a small community with good services, great shopping and excellent restaurants. They enjoy passing Buck Park and the Maurice River, and especially coming home to a beautiful tree-lined street.

Drive approximately 1.5 miles to a right onto Rt. 49 (Main Street). At blinking traffic light, make a left onto Cedar Street. Proceed 1.5 miles to a left on Tomasello Drive.

From the Delaware Memorial Bridge, take I-295 N to Exit 4 (US 40E) to Rt. 55 S to Exit 27. Continue with directions above to sales center.

From the Atlantic City/Mays Landing area: take Rt. 40 West to Rt. 552 West (Bears Head Rd/Millville Rd). Follow Rt. 552 West for approximately 12 miles. Continue straight onto Spur Rt. 552. Follow Spur Rt. 552 into Millville, pass under Rt. 55 and make a left onto 10th Street, then a right onto Rt. 49 (Main Street). Make a left at the blinking traffic light (Blinker Custard shop on the corner) onto Cedar Street. Follow approximately 1.5 miles to a left on Tomasello Drive.
